Presentation
Jean Petreschi is a lawyer admitted to practice law both in France (Paris Bar) and in England and Wales (London Bar).
Jean advises clients principally around commercial law, assisting his French and foreign clients in particular on mergers and acquisitions, fundraisings, implementing profit-sharing schemes for managers and employees, and the reorganization of groups of companies. He is also involved in commercial litigation and insolvency proceedings.
He first developed his professional legal experience in London, at Magic Circle international law firm Clifford Chance, before practicing in France in law firm Saint-Louis Avocats.
Prior to being a lawyer, Jean co-founded a technology startup, now called Aula Education, raising several equity investments, before growing the product internationally.
He is a law graduate of the University of Oxford (Harris Manchester College Scholarship) and completed a Masters degree at the London School of Economics.
Jean is French-American and bilingual in French and English.
He is listed on the US embassy’s website as an English-speaking attorney in Paris.

Fees
The level of fees is set by mutual agreement with each client, prior to any service and in accordance with the ethical rules of the legal profession, which is subject to a fee agreement.
Under article 11 of the Règlement Intérieur National, the lawyer's fee level varies according to the following criteria: the time devoted to the case; research, analysis and writing; the nature and difficulty of the case; the importance of the interests involved; lawyer's fees and expenses; his experience, his notoriety, his specialization; the result obtained; the financial situation of the client.
In accordance with the law and the practices of the legal profession, the lawyer's remuneration may be agreed on a flat rate basis or by billing on a time spent basis (according to a predetermined hourly rate).
Since January 1, 2016, in the event of a dispute over fees, it is possible to refer to the consumer mediator : CNB, Médiateur à la consommation, 180 boulevard Haussmann – 75008 Paris. The use of this mediator does not entail any costs payable by the customer.
